At Northern Virginia Community College, we offer two courses in Environmental Science: Fundamentals of Environmental Science (ENV 121) and Applications in Environmental Science (ENV 122). Both courses can be used to fulfill your Physical or Life Science Elective with Lab degree requirement. These courses do not have to be taken in order. Careers related to the environment are varied. Students with a passion for the environment go on to work in sectors as varied as urban planning, engineering, government, forestry, agriculture, parks, geographic information systems (GIS), law, and, of course, science.
