The Virtual Student Union (VSU) is a virtual student hub where students can connect with the NOVA community and engage in a variety of programs without having to physically be on a campus. Through the VSU, students have access to participate in virtual Student Life events, join community discussions, and connect with many online educational resources. Events are offered at flexible hours and program material can be accessed in various formats. The events posted in the VSU are optional, but students are encouraged to attend and participate if they find something of interest and schedules permit. 

As a NOVA student, you are already “enrolled” in the VSU which can be accessed through your Canvas dashboard. Although it lives in Canvas, it is not a course, but a helpful resource to become more engaged. Announcements are posted weekly with information about different online events and opportunities offered to students. Make sure to enable your course notifications so you can stay up to date with all that’s going on. 

No matter where you’re located or whether you attend in-person or online classes, the VSU is here to help you feel a part of the NOVA community and find ways to make the most of your journey while at NOVA.
