NOVA Online (NOL) is NOVA’s distance learning program. It opened in 1975 to accommodate individuals who wanted an education but could not accommodate a traditional program into their schedule. Before 2018, NOVA Online was called the Extended Learning Institute (ELI).  Here are some things to know about NOL:

• Over 20,000 students
• 19 degrees & 16 certificate/career studies certificates available
• More than 300 courses offered
• Asynchronous learning format, with few exceptions
• Courses offered for full semester or accelerated sessions
• Variety of session start dates offered throughout the year
